My Experience

My Garden Design and Horticultural Consultancy Service is based on the skills and experience gained over many years in the horticultural industry. This includes practical horticulture, landscaping, marketing and retail nursery ownership.

1998 - present	Continuing to design gardens and consult on horticultural matters. Specialising in residential, small commercial gardens and country acreages.
1998	UK and Holland: inspecting winter gardens and investigating the latest computer technology for garden design.
1994- 1997	Commissions accepted and gardens designed throughout the ACT and Queanbeyan, Yass, Moruya, Sydney, the Blue Mountains and Cooma
1994	England: for discussions with BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) and to inspect projects started in 1992. Also to Holland for discussions with that country's leading landscape designers and garden centre display gardens.
1992	Holland and England for discussions with the Landscape Industry Associations on the latest trends in landscape design. Included inspections of gardens by Gold Medal winners of the Chelsea Flower Show for excellence in landscape and garden design.
1991	I opened my Garden Design Studio in Watson (Canberra) combined with a Demonstration and Display Garden for inspection by my clients.
1990	England to continue horticultural consulting that I commenced in 1989 for both retail garden centres and wholesale nurseries. Work also undertaken for private gardens in NSW and the ACT.
1989	England for consultancy commissions for retail and wholesale nurseries, and for private gardens in the U.K. Also, designing gardens in NSW and the ACT.
1988	Studied garden design in England with John Brookes (Principal lecturer in Landscape Design at Kew Gardens, London). Brookes is considered one of the most influential garden designers in Britain today. These studies included inspections and assessments of garden design in England and Northern France.
1979 - 1988	Owned the Yass Nursery and Herb Gardens combined with 2.5 acres of gardens. These won numerous garden competitions. I was presented with the NSW Nursery Industry Association Award for "a member nursery for outstanding achievement"
