Designing a garden for a new home, or renovating an older garden, requires specialised skills.

My professional services to you include:

• An initial consultation and on-site evaluation to assess your garden's potential.
• Preparation of concept sketch drawings to scale to include your wants and needs.
• Drawing the Master Plan based on the initial sketch drawings.
• Recommendations for plants and/or a Planting Plan to compliment the Master Plan.
• Implementation of the Master Plan by way of recommending landscape contractors and assistance to obtain quotations and availability dates.
• Monitoring of the work being contracted out.

Garden Designs

The garden design starts with an initial consultation with you in your garden. This may be for an existing garden that needs renovating or a brand new garden. I will listen to your ideas and discuss the positive possibilities taking into account the site, style of home, and most importantly your budget. This discussion will combine your ideas with my suggestions. 

I will show you photographs and examples of garden plans previously executed for my clients. At the time of this initial consultation I will prepare an estimation of the time involved for a garden design. On your acceptance of this I will prepare scaled pencil sketches based on your instructions of the type of garden you really want. These sketches will then be discussed with you and at this time we can make additions and alterations.

Only when you are totally satisfied with the design will I then prepare the Master Plan of the garden ready for you to implement. 

Planting Plans

The hard landscaping may already be in place, i.e. retaining walls, pergolas, etc. In this case you may only want a Planting Plan for your garden. I will be pleased to provide you with an estimate of the time to prepare this for you. 

Included will be trees, shrubs and perennials to give you year-round colour and interest. You will also receive full maintenance guides and cultural notes on groups of plants to help you keep your garden looking good all year.
